Katherine Begley Eventing 2009 - Video 28/12/2009
Some friends of mine have made/are making videos to sum up their 2009, so I felt inspired to do the same! I am not very good at the whole video making scene, but I am quite pleased with the outcome. It's a simple collection of video snippets of Belvedere, Rosie and Ross throughout the year. There are also clips of me riding some friend's horses. Enjoy! I also made myself the challenge of choosing THREE photos to sum up the entire year. Now that was a task and a half I can assure you! In the end I decided to have one horsey picture, one social and one of my other activities. 1 Comment More Christmas Frivolities!!! 26/12/2009
I thought I would upload some photos from Christmas day onto my blog! Some horsey and some not! For once there are some pictures of me with tidy hair, makeup and some smart clothes (a rare occasion!!!) My Christmas went like this - 9am Stockings with my brother and cousins. My favourite gift from this was a Radley passport cover. Then I went out and rode the four legged creatures in the school, and my cousin joined me. (She rode Rosie!) Then a quick shower and a manic change of clothes for the main present opening session. I got a lovely old style photo album from my mum (Consequently I then spent a large chunk of Boxing Day sticking photos into it!). I also got a proper video camera from my parents which I can't stop playing with!!! Next was the Christmas lunch! As usual Gran had done an amazing job, and all 17 of us were well equipped with all manner of yummy food! The afternoon consisted of general sitting and mooching trying to get over the huge amount of food we had consumed! So, here are the photos, I hope you enjoy them! First off are the Non-Horsey pics! And of course, the horsey ones! (Click to enlarge) ***ENJOY*** Merry Christmas!! 25/12/2009
Tthe snow has arrived in Ledbury, just in time for a white Christmas!! So a merry Christmas to all sponsors, supporters, readers and friends from 'Katherine Begley Eventing'. ***MERRY CHRISTMAS*** Beautiful photos of Belvedere 19/12/2009
My older brother came back from University for Christmas this weekend, so I persuaded him to take some photos of me and Belvedere. It was absolutely FREAZING, but a gorgeous morning and he got some lovely photos!! Here are the schooling pictures (click to enlarge) After the schooling I sat and mooched with Belv in the sun and he got these amazing silhouetted photos! I LOVE them! (Click to enlarge) Well, well, well. FINALLY I have made it into the Horse and Hound. Unfortunately not for Eventing, but either way, I’m still in there! The H&H came out with my hunt - the North Hereford a couple of weeks ago, as I mentioned in one of my blogs - Click for link and although I hoped I would get in, I knew it was unlikely! However, it turns out I got two small mentions and am in one of the main photos, trotting along behind friend and field master Dawn and her husband Kevin. My mum, who is the hunt field secretary also has a photo of her jumping a tiger trap on Ross (one of the horses I compete). So enjoy the photos (click to enlarge) I also had a Show Jumping lesson with Brian today. The original plan had been to go to Graceland’s and have a lesson there, but unfortunately his child was ill so it was inconvenient for him. In the end we just went over to his place. The lesson was alright, it started off well, then I messed up a few jumps and as per usual lost confidence in myself and my ability to get belv to the right place. But it came round okay in the end. I am regularly jumping 1m20ish now with him in lessons, which is good, and so hopefully I may be able to tackle a 1m20 BSJA sometime in January/February. As you can see from the video, we are in draw reins. I have never ridden in draw reins before but Brian is very keen on using them in training and he wanted to see how belv went in them. The aim was to teach belv to stop lengthening his neck and poking his nose on the last stride. Once again, sorry for the massively long stirrups, Brian wants them this length to strengthen my legs and body. Advertising from Maxavita!! 14/12/2009
